Playing a character who is not like me excites me the most: Alma Hussein of 'Sapnon Ki Chhalaang'
Rising TV star Alma Hussein gets candid about playing the character 'Preeti Dhingra' in Sony Entertainment Television’s 'Sapnon Ki Chhalaang'.

Sony Entertainment Television’s coming-of-age drama 'Sapnon Ki Chhalaang' is appealing to viewers with its engaging narrative. Starring Megha Ray as the protagonist Radhika, the show follows her leap of faith to Mumbai to fulfil her dreams while wanting to prove to her parents, Radheshyam Yadav (Sanjivv Jotangia) and Suman Yadav (Kashish Duggal), that she can stand on her own feet and take care of them. But to succeed, Radhika must overcome the challenges of moving to a new city, handling the pressures of her first job, and learning to live with her roommates, all from diverse backgrounds. Rising TV star Alma Hussein plays Preeti Dhingra, one of Radhika’s roommates and she will be a major influence in Radhika’s life in the story going forward.
Having enthralled the audience with her previous performances, Alma Hussein returns with another interesting role in Sapnon Ki Chhalaang. Excited to be a part of the show, Alma Hussein shared, "Coming back to Sony Entertainment Television feels like a homecoming for me, and it will always have a special place in my heart as I made my TV debut with this brand. The channel has consistently brought forth aspirational narratives and characters that are relatable. Sapnon Ki Chhalaang beautifully brings alive the story of every girl who dared to dream and took a leap of faith to achieve her goals. It’s a story that everybody can relate to, and I am thrilled to be a part of it.”
Talking about her character, Alma Hussein revealed, "As an actor, I look forward to opportunities that will allow me to grow as a performer by exploring different characters. Playing a character who is not like me is something that excites me the most. My character Preeti hails from Punjab and has a very warm, lovely vibe. She is a very optimistic person who always has a smile on her face and cares about others, as she wants everyone to be happy. Preeti has a secret that she’s safeguarding from everybody, including her roommates, and her story will unravel as the story moves on. Playing Preeti is challenging as I have to understand her perspective on life and put myself in her shoes to portray the character better. I am looking forward to hearing my fans' thoughts on my character."
