Talented actress Pankhuri Awasthy Rode, known for her impactful performances in shows like Razia Sultan, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka, is making her return to television with the show Dhakad Beera. This marks her first project after embracing motherhood, making it a meaningful and emotional comeback.
Sharing her thoughts on taking up the role, Pankhuri said that the offer came at a time when she was eager to act again. “I missed being on set, but I was also nervous. This was my first TV project after delivering my twins. The thought of managing long work hours while caring for my babies made me hesitant. But since this was a cameo, it felt like a manageable start and the perfect way to ease myself back into work,” she shared.
What pulled her toward the role was its emotional depth. “The character is written with so much honesty and emotion. Playing a mother now feels even more natural and powerful after becoming one in real life. It gave the performance more truth and authenticity,” she added.

Dhakad Beera touches on the serious and socially relevant issue of honour killings, focusing on a brother’s fight to protect his sister. Pankhuri says she felt proud to be part of a show that highlights such a critical topic. “This is not just a story—it’s a reflection of real issues that still exist in society. I wanted to be a part of something that starts a conversation and makes viewers think.”
Known for choosing roles that combine strength with purpose, Pankhuri believes in storytelling that can create change. “I’ve always wanted to do roles that go beyond entertainment and leave a lasting impression. Acting has always been my passion, and coming back with a role that means something makes it even more rewarding,” she said.
She also spoke warmly about working with the cast, including senior actress Rakshanda Khan and the younger actors, especially Divyam (who plays her on-screen son), Samrat, and little Divit, whom she described as a “6-month-old dynamite.”
With Dhakad Beera, Pankhuri brings together her personal growth and professional commitment, offering a performance that promises to resonate deeply with audiences and shed light on important societal issues.
