‘Worth the wait’: Priyanshi Yadav on joining Doree 2 as the TITULAR face

Colors is set to launch the second season of its popular family drama, Doree. The makers are busy finalizing the cast, and it has been confirmed that Karan Vohra, currently playing Aryaman Bundela in Main Hoon Saath Tere, will take on the male lead role in Doree 2.

Adding to the excitement, Pandya Store fame Priyanshi Yadav has been roped in to play the female lead. Priyanshi, known for her stellar performances in family dramas like Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ishqbaaaz, and Kumkum Bhagya, will bring her charisma and talent to the new season.

Fans of the first season will also be delighted to hear that Amar Upadhyay will reprise his role as Ganga Thakur.

The original season of Doree featured a star-studded cast, including Amar Upadhyay, Mahi Bhanushali as Doree Thakur, Sudha Chandran, Toral Rasputra and Anurag Sharma, Mehul Buch, Sonal Vengurlekar and others in key roles.

Speaking with India Forums, Priyanshi shared that, "It's a great opportunity. I waited for nine months after Pandya Store, and I feel it was worth the wait. Everyone loved Doree Season 1."

The show captivated audiences with its poignant narrative, which revolved around the progressive Doree (Mahi Bhanushali) and her struggle against the traditionalist Kailashi Devi Thakur (Sudha Chandran). Its exploration of generational divides and women’s rights left a lasting impact on viewers. The show started in November 2023, and after a run of 8 months, the daily soap went off-air. Doree concluded on June 26, 2024. The makers have decided to wrap up the storyline focusing on Doree’s childhood and are now gearing up to launch the show’s second season.

With the return of beloved characters and the addition of fresh faces like Priyanshi Yadav, Doree 2 promises to offer more emotionally charged storytelling and compelling drama. Fans are eagerly awaiting the premiere of this much-anticipated sequel.
