The Coronavirus pandemic has turned the entire world upside down. The number of cases is drastically increasing with each passing day and a total of 338, 879 cases have been reported worldwide.

After Idris Elba, Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, Kevin Durant and Daniel Dae Kim announced that they tested positive for Covid 19, world-renowned opera singer Plácido Domingo has now shared that he too has been detected positive for the virus. The artist confirmed the news on his Facebook page as he wrote: "I feel it is my moral duty to announce to you that I have tested positive for COVID19," he wrote. "My family and I are all in self-isolation for as long as it is deemed medically necessary."

Domingo said that he is currently in good health but decided to get tested after experiencing "fever and cough symptoms."

He encouraged his fans to wash their hands and follow the guidelines and regulations given by local governments. "Together we can fight this virus and stop the current worldwide crisis, so we can hopefully return to our normal daily lives very soon," Domingo wrote.

Spain is struggling to contain Europe's second-worst outbreak of the coronavirus after Italy, with over 28,000 cases and more than 1,700 deaths, according to the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the 79-year-old Spanish opera singer resigned as general director of the Los Angeles Opera last year after accusations of sexual harassment. However, Domingo denied all the allegations and publicly apologized to the women who accused him of sexual harassment.
