Amongst the many people who pack their bags to enter the world of filmmaking, we have the Aligarh lad, Kalpesh Singh who has focused on only one prime goal in his life; To be a successful producer! The man gave himself no alternative choices as he knew that there is nothing known as 'Impossible' in the world.

Thoughts become things...indeed!

Currently associated with Optimystix Productions' Crime Patrol as a Casting Director, let's hear what Kalpesh has to summarize about his career aspirations.

Kalpesh, please tell us something about your job as a Casting Director. How did you successfully evolve in this field?

I studied my Mass Communication from Aligarh and thereon shifted my base to Noida to study filmmaking with BAG Telefilms before coming to Mumbai. My brother Dushyant Singh is an established producer who is associated with Halla Bol and Yeh Hai Aashiqui for quite some episodes. With his guidance, I have been faring well.

I have been working as a Casting Director for Crime Patrol from the past 5 years. Prior to this, I was an Assistant Director and worked on Rakt Sambandh and Gunahon Ka Devta.

What are your role and responsibilities as a Casting Director?

We mostly prefer actors who are well versed with theatre. We narrate the story and convince them that the episode will come out well. One thing which we always tell our actors is that once they take up an episode, they will get addicted to doing it; and in most cases, it is a fact!

What are your work timings?

We work from 11 am to 11 pm.

How do you cope up with the stress due to hectic work?

Well, one needs to be a workaholic to be in this profession. Stress is a part of our job but then, when we are around 10 more people, we automatically work in collaboration; making things easier for each other.

What do you aspire to do in the future?

I want to become a successful producer.

Good luck Kalpesh!
