Om Puri lends his voice to Agle Janam..

Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is the new venture of Swastik Pictures on Zee TV which is all set to premiere tonight at the 9.30 PM slot. There is a surprise element for viewers in the first episode, as the narration is given by one of the famous veteran actors of our Hindi cinema, Om Puri.

"Om Puriji has given a voice over in the first episode of Agle Janam. We are very happy with his association," says Siddharth Tewary, Producer, Swastik Pictures.

Basically it was Yash Puri who convinced Om for the narration. "Yash is brother of Om Puriji. He convinced Om for this voice over and the outcome is really fabulous. The whole Swastik Team is thankful to Om Puriji as it was great to work with him, even though it was for a short spam of time," adds Siddharth.

Agle Janam is the story of Laali and her family living in poverty. The extreme sacrifice that Laali makes is a moving story. This seventeen year old girl lives with her parents and her younger siblings in a village called Koyna in Bihar. They come from a low cast background and by profession are rat killers or 'Musahars' who help the Zamindars to protect their land and homes from infestation. The father scrapes together a small income and the girl does odd jobs around the village to support him. And like any other girl of her age, she also dreams of a happy life after her marriage to a man who loves her.

The star cast includes, Ratan Rajput as a lead.
