Not getting work post ‘Ek Astha Aisi Bhi’ worked in my favour: Tina Philip

Tina Philip is currently entertaining the audience with her stint in Star Bharat’s ‘Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya’. She replaced actress Bhoomika Gurung in the show and her character is getting the appreciation from the viewers. Tina made her acting debut with Star Plus show ‘Ek Astha Aisi Bhi’. Post the show the actress was not seen on TV for a couple of years. In a candid chat with India Forums, Tina revealed how not getting work opportunities after her first show worked in her favor. 

Tina said, “Honestly I wasn't on a break, I just wasn’t offered any work. So, it was never a choice, but now when I look back, I think it made perfect sense because that was the time, I met Nikhil outside our set and our relationship developed. We had the time to know each other and I am grateful to the universe for bringing him into my life. My friends often tell me that it’s hard to find actors from the industry who are so family oriented and so grounded. If I was working, I don’t think we would have dated because, I as an individual love focusing on my work. I had moved all the way from the UK to India, so the stakes were high. I guess like they say jo humari marzi se ho woh acha par jo humari marzi se na ho woh aur bhi acha kyunki usme Bhagwan ki marzi hoti hai (smiles)”.

When asked if she ever faced casting couch, she said, “Thankfully no one has ever dared to approach me in that manner. I think education has a huge impact. I always used to introduce myself as a Chartered Accountant and I never came across as desperate to find work”.
