Lucknow, Aug 24 (IANS) Hailing the Supreme Court verdict lifting the Uttar Pradesh government's two-month ban on the screening of his film 'Aarakshan' in the state, Bollywood producer and director Prakash Jha Wednesday said he had no resentment in his heart against the Mayawati government.

'Those who banned the film might have their own views behind it... But I have nothing against anyone in my heart... I am happy that the movie has now been released following the Supreme Court directives,' Jha told reporters here at a press conference here.

'Though the ban has affected the business of the movie, I am still happy that my objective to get the film released has been fulfilled,' he added.

Over a week after its worldwide release, multiplexes and cinema halls across Uttar Pradesh started screening 'Aarakshan' Aug 20 -- a day after the Supreme Court lifted the state government's ban on the movie.

Citing law and order problems, the Mayawati government Aug 10 banned the screening of Aarakshan that deals with the sensitive issue of reservation in education system.

'Even as the movie was banned citing land and order problems, the screening of the movie has not created any trouble in any city of Uttar Pradesh,' Jha noted.

Asked his view on Anna Hazare's fight against corruption, he said: 'I am in favour of any campaign that intends to cleanse corruption from the country.'

On whether he would make a movie on the veteran social activist, Jha said: 'Let's see what happens in the future.'
