According to our source, "Adarsh Samaj Sevak Sangh, an NGO, has approached the DG and the Home Minister as they are upset with the image of police officers being put up on the show."
Laagi Tujhse Lagan has a character named Inspector More, a sleazy, uncouth and corrupt police officer.
Kiran Hundal, General Secretary, Adarsh Samaj Sevak Sangh says, "Laagi Tujhse Lagan shows police officers in a negative light. We have received a lot of complaints regarding this. Most of the complainants are worried that the masses would lose faith in the whole system if such radical stereo-types are telecast over the tube."
Kiran adds, "We have written a letter to the Director General of Mumbai Police S. S. Virk and to the Home Minister R. R. Patil. Both the offices have responded to our letters asking a week's time to take measures to help the situation. We will wait for ten days, if no action is taken, we will then take a suitable legal action after consulting our legal advisers."
Pawan Malhotra aka Inspector More says, "We had shooting till the wee hours of morning, till then we never got such news. First I will have to confirm the news from the channel and the producer. Only then can I comment on this whole issue."
We called producer Hemal Thakkar but he remained unavailable to comment.
