Indian daily soaps have this peculiar style of conflict and that is protagonist versus girlfriends. Girlfriends on TV shows are always shown in a bad light and we decided to list down things that need to change about the idea.

It's always shown that the protagonist's love is real and the girlfriend's love is always fake! Even girlfriends can have true love! Give them a chance to prove it!

Girlfriends will do anything to get their love, they will kidnap, they will extort and they will even kill! Girlfriends won't stop at anything to get their guy. If the protagonist does the same thing, it is termed as a 'Courageous Attempt' at winning their love!

Girlfriends always have an ulterior motive! 

Not all girlfriends have  greed for money or property. Maybe they just want to be with the guy they truly love! Makers of daily soaps think 'girlfriends sirf paisa lootegi!'

Girlfriends don't like the guy's family! 

Not all Girlfriends are like that! Some of them may actually like the guy's family. However, going by what we see on TV, they are always to hate the family on the inside and just pretend to get along with them.

Dear TV show writers, it almost seems like you guys have never had honest relationships. You guys write like you have always had 'Dhokhas.' The lighter side of relationships need to be portrayed on Indian TV and it needs to be done soon!
