Renowned actor Nana Patekar finds himself embroiled in a new controversy as a video capturing him smacking a fan seeking a selfie on the sets of his film surfaces online. In the viral video, Nana Patekar, clad in a brown blazer and hat, is seen shooting for his upcoming film "Journey" on a street near the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi. As a young fan approaches from behind to take a selfie, Nana reacts by smacking the back of his head. A crew member standing beside Nana then intervenes, grabbing the fan by the neck and escorting him off the set.

The incident has triggered a wave of criticism on social media, with users expressing their disapproval of Nana Patekar's actions. One fan on X  remarked in Hindi, "In fact, we the common people have given the status of God to these actors and cricket players in India, so we have to be ready to get slapped and kicked by them."

This latest controversy comes on the heels of Nana Patekar's previous involvement in the MeToo movement, where actor Tanushree Dutta accused him of sexual harassment during the shoot of the 2009 film "Horn 'Ok' Pleassss."

On the professional front, Nana Patekar was recently seen in Vivek Agnihotri's "The Vaccine War," portraying the role of the former director general of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). While his on-screen performances have garnered acclaim, this off-screen incident has once again placed the actor under the spotlight, prompting debates on the ethical conduct of public figures.
