Nadaaniyan Choreographer Says Ibrahim Ali Khan Isn’t the Best Dancer but Praises His Hard Work

Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s film Nadaaniyan premiered on Netflix on March 7, receiving mixed reactions from the audience. While Ibrahim made his acting debut with this film, his dance performance in the song Tirkit Dhoom has also caught attention. Now, choreographer Vijay Ganguly has shared his experience of working with the young star.

In an interview with Midday, Vijay opened up about Ibrahim’s efforts on set. He admitted, “Ibrahim is not a fantastic dancer but a very hardworking one. Though he comes from a Nawabi family, he is grounded. Every time he didn’t get a step right, my assistants would go out of our way to make sure he did it well.”

The song Tirkit Dhoom showcases Ibrahim leading a vibrant dance sequence, with Khushi Kapoor joining him. Despite not being a naturally gifted dancer, Ibrahim’s dedication and perseverance helped him deliver an impressive performance.

Interestingly, Vijay has also choreographed his sister, Sara Ali Khan, in the hit song Chaka Chak from Atrangi Re. The track was a massive success and even earned him a Filmfare award. He has also worked with their father, Saif Ali Khan, in Chef. Speaking about Saif’s dance skills, Vijay shared, “Saif has improved over time. He will joke about things [but still] learn his steps.”

Nadaaniyan follows the story of Arjun Mehta, played by Ibrahim, an ambitious young man aiming to study law and secure a stable career. On the other hand, Khushi Kapoor’s character, Pia Jai Singh, believes in prioritizing love over ambition. Their paths cross in an unusual way when Pia offers Arjun ?25,000 every week to pretend to be her boyfriend. However, as time passes, their fake relationship turns into something deeper, leading to an emotional rollercoaster.
