“My father was my boyfriend”: Neena Gupta reveals she often felt lonely

Bollywood actress Neena Gupta has always been open about her personal life and struggles she faced as a single mother.

In a recent interview, Neena shares that she has often felt lonely in life, especially because she didn't have a boyfriend or a husband for a long time. She told RJ Siddharth Kannan in Hindi:

"Very often. It happened all my life. Because I didn't have a boyfriend or husband for many years. In fact, my father was my boyfriend; he was the man of the house. It has happened when I was disrespected at work."

The 60-year-old actress shared that she she felt lonely also when she would be disrespected at work, but she does not dwell on the past and has moved on. 

Neena Gupta was dating former West Indian cricketer Vivian Richards in the 1980s, with whom she has a daughter, Masaba Gupta, who is now a renowned fashion designer. Neena never married Richards and chose to raise Masaba as a single mother, and moved the family from New Delhi to Mumbai. 

Later, Neena married New Delhi-based Vivek Mehra in a secret ceremony on 15 July 2008, in the United States.

On the work front, Neena ji was recently seen in the film Sardar Ka Grandson, with Arjun Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh.
