Earlier seen in a host of shows such as Bhagonwali - Baante Apni Taqdeer (Zee TV), Hitler Didi (Zee TV), Comedy Classes (Life OK), Reporters (Sony TV), Tu Mera Hero (Star Plus) and a lot of films, the latest one being Bangistan, Aakash Pandey will now be seen in Zee TV's Lajwanti. Tellybuzz hence speaks to the fine - looking actor about his role and his journey in the industry.

You will be seen playing a pivotal role in Zee TV's upcoming presentation, Lajwanti. Please brief us about what will your role be like.

This story is very close to my heart and I can promise that the audience has never seen such show on Indian Television. My character is light hearted, entertaining and challenging too. Like every actor, I too love portraying different shades in a role and this one role which has all colors of life.

What according to you is more challenging? A reality stand-up comedy show or playing a fictional comic character in the daily soap?

I do not find comedy difficult or challenging as it comes naturally to me. But yes I like doing comedy. Working with stand-up comedians like Krushna Abhishek, Bharti Singh, Siddharth Sagar and the others on Comedy Classes helps me improve as an actor and a comedian.

You worked as a creative director and a script writer. What prompted you to take up acting?

Well, I passed out of Drama school in Lucknow and studied acting, direction and writing post which I assisted Kundan Shah ji who directed Jane bhi do Yaro. Acting was never planned, it just happened by chance! I still enjoy writing when I get time.

What are you aspirations ahead?

I would call it my professional fantasy! I want to direct a film based on Manto's Afsaane. I wanted to make comic books; I wanted to act like woody Allen. So there are a lot of things I aspire and I hopefully will accomplish that soon!
