Mushtaq Khan's Shocking Kidnapping Ordeal: Actor Reveals Harrowing Details of Escape

On November 20, Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped in a shocking turn of events. At a recent press conference, the actor recounted the terrifying experience, revealing how it all unfolded. He explained how he had often seen movies where kidnappers blindfold their victims and take them to isolated places to demand ransom, but never imagined such an ordeal would happen to him.

Mushtaq shared how, after his famous role in Welcome, he received multiple invitations for events as a chief guest, often offering honorariums and incentives. He recalled a call in late October from a man named Rahul Saini, who claimed they had met in Noida. Rahul invited Mushtaq to an award function for senior actors and agreed on a fee of Rs 75,000, with an advance payment of Rs 25,000. Mushtaq was booked on a flight from Mumbai to Delhi on November 20, with a return flight the following day.

Although initially hesitant due to Mumbai's elections, Mushtaq decided to board the flight. Upon landing in Delhi, he was picked up by a driver named Manoj, who drove him towards Meerut. Rahul reassured Mushtaq over the phone, saying the car would drop him at a Jain Shikanji stall, where another vehicle would take him to the event. However, Mushtaq soon noticed something strange—the long drive and a switch in vehicles. The new driver, along with another person, looked suspicious, and soon a third man joined them.

Mushtaq was then confronted by two men, who pointed guns at him and ordered him to stay quiet. His face was covered, and he was taken to a room where six men awaited. “They demanded Rs 1 crore and started discussing how to collect the money,” Mushtaq said. The kidnappers insisted on cash payments to avoid being traced. Understanding the danger he was in, Mushtaq knew he had to escape. “I knew if I stayed, I wouldn’t survive,” he confessed. He managed to break free and immediately reported the incident to the police.

Initially, the police had trouble believing his account, wondering why he wasn’t drugged or tied up. However, they eventually registered his complaint, and he provided further details to the Bijnor police. Mushtaq also gave advice to others to avoid falling into similar traps. “If someone invites you to an event and asks for your ID to book tickets, make sure to ask for their ID and gather all event details. Inform the local police about your visit, avoid using their vehicle, and book your own transport,” he recommended.

The Uttar Pradesh police later revealed that the same gang had planned to abduct actor Shakti Kapoor as well. Kapoor had been offered Rs 5 lakh to attend an event, but the plan was foiled due to issues with the advance payment. The police also recovered around Rs 1.4 lakh from the gang. This came shortly after comedian Sunil Pal’s abduction was reported.
