Mubarak Begum passes away

Legendary Singer Mubarak Begum is no more...



Legendary playback singer, Mubarak Begum left for heavely abode last night. She was suffering from prolonged illness since few months and after putting up a brave fight against it she breathed her last yesterday (Monday) at her residence in suburban Jogeshwari (Mumbai). She was 80 years-old and was not been keeping well for the last few years.

When contacted her family members they said, "Mubarak Begum is no more with us. She passed away today at 9:30pm at her residence in Jogeshwari. She was unwell since quite some time".

Her funeral and  last rites will take place today at Jogeshwari graveyard.

Mubarak Begum will always be remembered for her immense contribution to Bollywood in the field of songs, duets and ghazals during the 1950s-1970s. Among her works, "Kabhi tanhaiyon mein hamari yaad ayegi" from the 1961 movie "Hamari Yaad Aayegi" and "Woh na aayenge palat kar" from Devdas which released in 1955 starring Dilip Kumar and Vaijayantimala, were her favourite memories in singing.
