Mohit Malik opens up about his sudden cut from "Pratigya"

Mohit Malik, who was last seen in Star Plus’ Pratigya, opens up about his sudden cut from the show.

"I last shot for the show more than a week ago. I haven't gotten any calls about my return to the show so I don't know anything about it, but I am sure I will be back soon, as I received a terrific response".

When asked what he feels about being held back and not told anything about his role ahead, Mohit replied, "Well I have started meeting people for new shows,if not this, may be a new show soon".

Afterwards, we asked Mohit whether he enjoyed his role as Abhimanyu in the show,to which he replied:

"Yes I loved it, it was a different character for me to play, never played anything like this before. I had to speak Allahabadi language and I have only played an urban guy until now; and in TV you easily get typed casted.  I always wanted to do this, but was waiting for the correct one and this was it, it was a big challenge, I had sleepless nights, had to practice the lingo, I had to be perfect. All others had it a bit easier as they have been in the role for 2 years; for me it was harder. I used to take scripts and scenes home and practice, and because of short notice, I couldn't arrange for tutor. I had like home work on the sets; that's TV".

Furthermore Mohit continued talking about his character and if he had been able to give justice to his role if he continued?

"I have received so many mails and messages that you can't imagine. I got a great feedback. Also, I heard that no male character till date has been accepted that easily on the show, and I have on India-Forums seen that I have been accepted. Well, if the channel doesn't call me back, they will have to repent".

When asked Mohit how his wife (Addite Malik) reacted to his role as Abhimanyu?

"First time she saw me, she said that's not you. I had a different look, grown hair, and she loved it, she doesn't say much on my face because she thinks I will go crazy, but I know she enjoyed watching my shows. The best part is that she is not biased. She tells me when I am not good. Whenever I come back home from shooting and if I receive a kiss it means I did well. I worked hard to get those kisses everyday".

Mohit continued that this role has undoubtedly been his best till date.  "I played too much as Abhimanyu, had so much range as Sajjan Singh's son. Anger, hurt, revenge and love all in one, you hardly get such roles anymore to do. I had to grow my hair for this role, I had to work hard on my body, and they even wanted me to have a bare chest. Also in one kushti match, between me and Krishna (Arhaan Behll), I had gotten very lean earlier. I got typhoid in January and was hospitalized. Then I got back in shape.
