Marathi elegance & a traditional touch: Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare's wedding details unveiled

In recent days, Ira Khan, daughter of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutt, shared glimpses of her pre-wedding celebrations on social media, attended by friends like Mithila Palkar and Aamir Khan's ex-wife Kiran Rao, along with their son Azad Rao Khan. The star is gearing up to exchange vows with her longtime boyfriend, Nupur Shikhare, on January 3, 2024. Latest reports suggest that the couple will be honouring their Maharashtrian roots with traditional rituals during the wedding.

According to a report by News 18, the Khan family is excited to kick off the new year with a grand celebration. The wedding ceremony is scheduled for January 3 at the luxurious Taj Lands End hotel in Bandra, followed by two reception parties in Delhi and Jaipur from January 6 to 10.

The report indicates that the couple will embrace Marathi-style wedding traditions, paying tribute to the groom's heritage. 

Most of the jewellery for the occasion has been sourced from a well-known store in Matunga, renowned for its traditional pieces and designs. The food menu is expected to feature a diverse and lavish spread.

Aamir Khan, the proud father, is reportedly enthusiastic about his daughter's wedding. He has been personally inviting friends and colleagues from the film industry to attend the special occasion and bless the couple. The source mentioned, "Most actors aren’t in town due to the holiday season. But be assured that it’s going to be a star-studded affair. Those who won’t be able to make it to their big day will be a part of the reception in Jaipur."

For those unaware, Nupur Shikhare, the groom-to-be, is a fitness trainer, and the couple got engaged in Italy in September last year. Two months later, an intimate engagement party was hosted, attended by close family and friends, including actress Fatima Sana Shaikh.
