Mannat Har Khushi Paane Ki maker defends Ayesha Singh's character in extra-marital angle with Vikrant

Mannat – Har Khushi Paane Ki is one of the popular shows on Colors. We know that Vikrant Saluja (Adnan Khan) is now married to Mallika Raisingh (Sharain Khanduja). The marriage was a scam. Mallika faked her pregnancy and said that Vikrant was the father of the child. While he was innocent, Vikrant had no proof to back his claims. Mannat sees how Mallika whom she considered as her best friend and sister tore her life apart by marrying Vikrant. However, the two are determined to prove that she is a liar and reclaim their love and lives. Mannat will find out that Vikrant is not the first man to be entrapped by Mallika.

The angle of two sisters/best friends falling for the same man, and drama henceforth has become a staple on Indian daily soaps. As it is, there are many who believe that TV/OTT shows tend to over-romanticize cheating/extra-marital affairs and harm the moral fabric of society. Fans wrote to Mukta Dhond to avoid showing romantic scenes between Mannat and Vikrant for some time. They said this was affecting the image of Mannat’s character.

Mukta Dhond who is the creator of Mannat said she did not understand how romance between ManVik is degrading for Mannat. She said Vikrant is the married man, and he should fulfill the obligations. She said as a single woman, Mannat is not guilty here. She knows the truth, and is sticking by her man. Mukta said this is the saddest part of Indian society that a woman is held accountable for anything and everything.

But people are not very impressed saying the husband and even the ‘single’ lady involved in such an affair are equally responsible. It seems like the leading lady has no self-respect. Others said it was a move to whitewash the image of Mannat. We are seeing that she is also participating in Hariyali Teej and other functions, which is quite cringe.
