'Main Nikla Gaddi Leke' composer Uttam Singh speaks out on the use of his songs in 'Gadar 2'

Gadar 2, continues its impressive performance at the box office, setting new records along the way.  It collected ₹ 8.2 crore on Thursday as per early estimates reported by Sacnilk.com. This takes its total collection to ₹ 418.90 crore as it moves towards ₹500 crore one day at a time. 

While the movie's success is evident, there's been a point of contention regarding the use of original tracks in the sequel. Composer Uttam Singh recently expressed his disappointment during an interview with Amar Ujala. Singh, who crafted the original songs "Main Nikla Gaddi Leke" and "Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava," felt disheartened that music director Mithoon reimagined his creations for Gadar 2.

He revealed that he wasn't approached for Gadar 2 while two of his songs were incorporated in the film.

In his conversation with Amar Ujala, Singh shared in Hindi, "I wasn't approached for Gadar 2, and I don't believe in pursuing opportunities myself. Two of my songs were incorporated into the film, and I've also learned that my background music was used. Basic courtesy would dictate that they communicate with me before utilizing my work."

For the unversed, Gadar 2 serves as the sequel to Anil Sharma's 2001 cinematic gem, Gadar Ek Prem Katha. Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel seamlessly step back into their roles as Tara Singh and Sakeena, while Anil Sharma's son, Utkarsh Sharma, reprises his character, Jeete. The film delves into Tara Singh's (Sunny Deol) expedition to Pakistan to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh (Utkarsh Sharma), from the clutches of the Pakistani Army.
