Bollywood actress Madhu Raghunath at Nirav Modi's jewels event at Kamala Mills Compound in Mumbai.

Actress Madhu says she has a "karmic connection" with the southern entertainment industry.

She is currently in Mumbai.

"I am a south Indian myself, but I have been raised in Mumbai. I really respect people down south, but right now I want to do films here and stick around in Mumbai. But again I am doing a south film. I believe I have a karmic connection with the south industry," Madhoo told IANS.

Madhoo is known for her work in movies like "Roja", "Mohini" and "Diljale". She was last seen in 2011 film "Love U... Mr. Kalakaar!".

She is currently doing a Telugu film in which she plays the mother of a 16-year-old girl. She admits that good work wasn't coming her way for some time.

"I am in a very funny place right now. I could see many actresses doing some fabulous roles on screen. But somehow, such good work didn't come my way. Not that I don't want to work, but I haven't really found the right one," the 40-year-old said.

"I saw Tabu in 'Life Of Pi' and I really liked her role. I want to do something like that. I even liked 'Life In A Metro'. These are the kind of films where I see myself," she said.
