Madalsa Sharma: I have always believed in creating my own style… in pulling off any outfit that seems appealin

If you are in the entertainment industry and your job demands you to face the camera, then along with acting, fashion is another aspect that you must be aware of. Most actors have their own signature styles and try to be fashionable while stepping out. Anupamaa actor Madalsa Sharma says that fashion to her is - Fashion is feeling confident in pulling off a look you’re absolutely comfortable in.

“I have always believed in creating my own style since my teenage years. Honestly, I’m not even aware of the current trending outfits and have never let it even bother me. When it comes to clothing, everyone has their own dressing style. This is what makes me unique. I believe in pulling off any outfit that seems appealing to me more than anyone else,” says the actor, who is most comfortable in a pair of denim shorts and a crop top.

The actor is also comfortable picking up a character whose fashion sense is completely opposite to hers. “That’s the best part I feel. I’ve always been open to roles that are completely different and in the past I’ve taken up films which gave me the freedom to pull off a different look altogether,” she adds.

At times, characters look very different and the actor is expected to dress up like the part even during public appearances until the show is on air or the film releases. Things might get difficult sometimes in certain scenarios.

“The audience watches us every day in every episode so they have an image of us that they relate with, but due to the power of social media we can always give our audience a chance to see us differently. Personally I keep it very real on social media, people get to see who I am in real life in the space. It’s a blessing that people love Kavya and I give them a chance to know the real Madalsa as well,” she smiles.

The outfit that the actor would pick for a date night is a beautiful red or black short dress or a gown with a high slit. “And I will pick gorgeous footwear and a pretty glitter clutch or a sling to go with it,” she adds.

Sometimes people go overboard while following fashion trends. However, Madalsa says that it is a personal call to make and she would not like to comment on how someone is dressed.

“According to me, whether one is trying to follow a trend or create one, comfort is the only thing that matters as that’s where the confidence to pull off any look comes from. That’s all I keep in mind,” she says.

While she donates clothes that she does not wear anymore, she does change her wardrobe whenever she feels like it.

“I don’t have any specific time frame in mind but I absolutely love clothes and they’re my only weakness to be honest. So I’m not shy about committing to the fact that I keep adding clothes to my wardrobe very often,” she shares.

And, Madalsa has no qualms about accepting that she repeats her outfits. “Why not? I buy outfits that I love at first sight, not just to wear it once and leave it hanging in my wardrobe,” she says.
