Love playing negative roles in serials rather than films: Uday Tikekar

Actor Uday Tikekar, who will be seen in the forthcoming TV show "Krishndasi", says he loves playing a baddie in TV serials as the character never dies unlike in films.

Actor Uday Tikekar, who will be seen in the forthcoming TV show "Krishndasi", says he loves playing a baddie in TV serials as the character never dies unlike in films.

"I love playing a strong negative character in a serial because the character never dies. In films the negative character are called for two three scenes," told Uday.

The actor will be seen playing an authoritarian character named Pradyuman Vidyadhar Rao, an uncrowned king of a village, in the Colors' programme "Krishndasi", a remake of a Tamil series based on India's ancient Devadasi system.

Uday, who has played a negative role in a string of small screen shows like "Meet", "Manzilein Apani Apani", "Love Story" and Marathi serial titled "Abbhaan", feels that there is a lot of "variety" in the negative genre as well.

Asked why he only prefers playing a negative personality onscreen, he said:

"I feel there is a lot of play for an actor in that (negative) category. There is a lot of variety in negative roles...I think in my case people have loved me as a negative character".

"If people love me for what I am doing onscreen then why not?" said the actor who played Ileana D'Cruz's father in the 2012 released film "Barfi!".

He will also be seen on the silver screen in upcoming movies like "Rocky Handsome," directed by Nishikant Kamat, Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Raees" directed by Rahul Dholakia and Irrfan Khan starrer "Madaari" by Kamat again.

I am neither Indian nor live anywhere near India. I always wished to visit India one day but with this news, all I have is anger towards whoever that allowed such a terrible thing happen to that couple!!!! Clearly Indians need to wake up and respect women! This is crazy and shameful!!! Even animals have more sense of understanding than this bas***ds! The only way I can forgive India for allowing this stupid horrible event taking place is to punish the criminals the way no live man would ever think of repeating rape crime!!!! I have already started disliking india for such a terrible incident and many many more that happens every 22 minutes; beside all the disrespect they have for their female heir and women!!!!! Shame SHAME shame!!!
