Lip Sync Battle's Indian adaptation is all set to hit the screens and we sure are curious to see how it turns out. Featuring Farah Khan and Ali Asgar, the show will be a series of episodes with A-list celebrities battling it out on popular songs. Like the original, this will be all about the best lip sync, but there's are a bunch of differences.
It's no secret that the title has been switched up a little with "sing" instead of "sync" to make it easier to understand but what doesn't sit right with us is the other addition. We're talking about Ali Asgar's part in the show. The actor will be seen in a classic cross-dressed avatar for his comic acts.
Thinking about The Drama Company and The Kapil Sharma Show?

Farah Khan and Ali Asgar are known for their comic timing and TV has been serving ridiculous portrayals of cross-dressing in the name of comedy for years now. Most of these acts come with generous helpings of belittling women and mimicking mannerisms that are irksome.
What's ironic is that the show is bringing in something new to Indian TV and in the same breath being reduced to using the age-old trick of cross-dressing to get an audience to laugh an ignorant cackle. While the feminine portrayal may not offend viewers (they've seen it way too many times), there's still the question of repetition that takes away from a novice concept.
