Actress Payal Ghosh has raised concerns after revealing that a Pakistani actor—whom she once called a friend—issued a veiled threat when she mentioned her upcoming visit to Kashmir. Her trip, which had been planned and booked a week earlier, is now in limbo following the unsettling exchange. The development comes shortly after the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, where gunmen targeted a group of civilians and tourists, leaving 26 dead and the country in shock.
Speaking about the incident, Payal said, "It's absolutely disgusting. I had casually shared my trip plans with an actor friend from Pakistan as I was looking forward to my trip in Kashmir. My tickets were booked a week back. However, I am not sure whether to go ahead with the trip or not."
Payal expressed that what disturbed her most was the cryptic tone of the message, which she believes carried underlying threats. According to her, the actor warned her to study Islamic theology, implying she would face consequences otherwise. "There's already a great amount of uncertainty and amidst all this, when you have to hear things that indirectly suggest that you are not safe in your own country, it's definitely infuriating. He told me to learn 'Ilm al-Kalam' or else I should be ready to face the consequences. What does he really mean by 'consequences'? I am really angry and furious after hearing this. The incident seems to be a thing of mockery for people in Pakistan," she added.

Deeply disturbed by the experience, Payal said the episode has made her question the intentions of people she once trusted. "I regret being friends with people of such a mindset. Praying for the families who lost their near ones and praying for the souls of the ones we lost. May God protect us all," she said.
Taking her frustration to social media, Payal also posted on her Instagram story on April 25, writing, "One of my Pakistani actor friend, saying to me Kashmir main aana hai toh learn Ilm al-Kalam otherwise you know the consequences... I'm angry and furious...hearing this."
The incident adds another layer of tension to the already volatile situation in Kashmir. The recent Pahalgam attack, in which innocent lives were lost, has once again raised questions about the safety of civilians and tourists in regions affected by conflict.
