Lata Mangeshkar given a trial of extubation; continues to be in ICU

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar’s team recently shared a health update. Currently, it's been more than a week since the Bharat Ratna recipient is undergoing treatment at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after she was diagnosed with COVID-19, followed by pneumonia

Many false rumours regarding the iconic singer's health have been doing the rounds on the internet since then.

The Mangeshkar family, through the official account of the singer, once again, asked people to not indulge in spreading 'disturbing rumours' about her health condition.

Today, the team mentioned on the social handle that the veteran singer has been given a trial of extubation.

Anusha Srinivasan, a close friend of Mangeshkar said,

“Lata didi continues to be in the ICU at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai under treatment. She has been given a TRIAL of extubation ( off the invasive Ventilator ) this morning. Presently, she is showing signs of improvement but will remain under observation of the team of doctors headed by Dr Pratit Samdani. We thank each one of for your prayers and good wishes."

Previously, the 92-year-old star's team had tweeted, 

"There is a marginal improvement in Lata Didi’s health and she continues to be in the ICU. Kindly refrain from spreading disturbing rumours or falling prey to random messages regarding Didi’s health. Thank you."

Meanwhile, fans, friends and people across the nation are currently praying for her speedy recovery. On Wednesday, a special 'Mahamrityunjay jaap', followed by a 'hawan' was performed by the saints in Ayodhya for Lata Mangeshkar’s healthy and speedy recovery.
