In a society captivated by fitness transformations, Kusha Kapila's physical changes sparked considerable online discussion. While rumors of quick fixes like Ozempic circulated, Kusha remained silent, until now. In a candid YouTube video, the actress and content creator revealed the challenging reality behind her transformation.
In a revealing video on her YouTube channel, Kusha Kapila discussed the emotional and physical challenges she faced during her transformation. She explained how she previously restricted her food intake to gain approval, eventually leading to a diagnosis of abdominal tuberculosis—an experience that significantly affected her health and perspective.
Kusha Kapila shared her experience of feeling disconnected from her transformation, explaining that the constant flow of reels and headlines created a sense of detachment. She described it as an ongoing out-of-body experience, where the focus on her appearance seemed to come from others rather than herself.
Kusha Kapila revealed that her body image issues started young, with weight gain beginning at age 10, leading to hurtful comments and nicknames like "motu." She first lost weight around 12 or 13, but even then, her eating habits were consistently scrutinized and judged by others.
Following her 10th-grade board exams, Kusha Kapila's weight gain prompted her mother to take action. Her mother enrolled her in a local gym, which Kusha described as similar to an akhada, to focus on weight loss.
Kusha's journey into fitness began at the gym. She incorporated running on the treadmill, floor exercises, and strength training into her routine. Over time, she lost approximately 20 to 22 kilos.
By 22, Kusha's life took a turn. She gained weight and felt lost. A friend's photo and subsequent message, "Kusha, I think it’s time to work on yourself," sparked a turning point. She returned to the gym, but this time, her approach was extreme, consuming only 800-900 calories daily, leading to rapid weight loss.
Despite the compliments, Kusha struggled internally. Her immune system weakened, leading to a mysterious fever and a diagnosis of abdominal tuberculosis, likely due to her drastic calorie restriction.
Now 33, Kusha has changed her approach, prioritizing self-care and personal well-being.
