Kunickaa Sadanand Reveals Six-Year Relationship with Kumar Sanu During His Troubled Marriage

Actor Kunickaa Sadanand, known for her performances in films like Beta, Gumraah, and Khiladi, recently spoke about her past relationship with singer Kumar Sanu. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, she revealed their six-year-long bond, which began while the singer was going through a troubled marriage. Kunickaa described Kumar Sanu as deeply affected by his personal struggles, which drew them closer.

Kunickaa recalled their first meeting at a friend’s house, where Kumar Sanu had come for a recording. Being a fan, she approached him, and their conversation unexpectedly extended to diet and fitness. “I offered him a sweetener and advised him to care for his health,” she shared, adding that he kissed her forehead in gratitude. This initial interaction sparked a connection between the two.

Their next encounter was during a film shoot in Ooty, where Kumar Sanu was vacationing with his sister and nephew. Kunickaa revealed that his marriage was extremely strained, sharing an emotional moment when he became drunk during dinner.

He cried and even tried to jump out of the hotel window. His sister, nephew, and I had to stop him. He was suffering but didn’t want to leave his wife or children. That moment brought us closer, and we began a relationship.

The actor explained how their bond grew over time. “He moved to a flat near mine, and we started exchanging meals. I helped him lose weight, and our connection deepened.” Kunickaa admitted their relationship remained private, out of respect for Kumar Sanu’s family. “I felt like his wife, but later I discovered things about him that broke my heart,” she revealed.

Kunickaa also alleged that Kumar Sanu’s wife, Rita Bhattacharya, eventually learned about their affair and retaliated by damaging her car with a hockey stick.

For context, Kumar Sanu was married to Rita Bhattacharya from 1980 to 1994. The couple had three children before their divorce. In 2001, he remarried Saloni Bhattacharya and has two children with her.
