'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' is not a typical romantic show - Shaheer Sheikh

Shaheer Sheik, the adorable charmer is back on television with a new show titled as 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'. The actor is quite excited for his very first venture on Sony TV, which will also be his comeback post Mahabharat.

We got in a candid chat with the actor to know more about his character, his co-stars and much more...

Dealing with a unique concept that can be seen in the promos, what would you like to comment on it?

I personally liked the concept of the show 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi', it is not a typical romantic show. I have been part of 'Navya' which was also a love story, but here, apart from a love story there is an add-on to the family values which kicked me more because I have never done such kind of shows before.

As you said Navya was a lovestory and again you are part of another lovestory, how different are both the characters?

He is not that romantic at all. For the first time, I am playing this character who is very connected to his family, who can do anything for his family and specially for his mother. Talking about the love angle, here the guy is so complicated in the head that he can act weird sometimes, he can be unexpectedly angry and all these shades are very new for me to play. And there is a reason behind the guy being weird and complicated, its because he has seen a lot in his past and has gone through a very bad phase in life, which made him like that.

How much do you relate to your character Dev?

I feel every person has various characters within, you just need to figure it out. Like Dev is quite complicated, people do call him rude sometimes and he is also moody, which I am too in my real life.

Dev seems to have some kind of tussles going on with his relationship with his mother and his lady love on the show. Kindly elaborate.

Not exactly, because Dev is very sure that he wants to be on his mother's side and do whatever his mother says and if she doesn't like something, he too will go against that thing. But what happens is that even though he is very focused and strong in his head, when he falls in love, it creates a chaos in his mind. It becomes very difficult for him to deal with the situation that he is in. And the story will be revolving around how he handles both the relationships.

Will it be an intense love story?

We are trying to keep it little light, the kind of a story which puts a smile on your face before you go to sleep. Although, it is a complicated love story but in a sweet zone and not an intense one.

You are working with two co-stars, where one of them is quite experienced and another is a newbie. How is it working with them?

Supriya ji teaches me a lot, she has so much experience that everytime I am performing with her, I get to learn so many things. While at same time, Erica brings a lot of freshness to the scene and I personally believe nervous energy is very good for acting. Being nervous initially adds a lot to the scene and makes the character look genuine and believable.

What are your hopes from this show and also from the channel as you are being associated with Sony TV for the first time?

I just hope that people accept the show as this is different and something that is not currently shown on television. And with Sony TV, what I want is that my association with the channel brings glory to Sony TV as well as for me.

Lastly what would you say to your fans who were eagerly waiting for your comeback?

I would just say that this is a good show and I felt a right show to become a part of. As my fans wanted to see me on television and were telling me again and again, to make a comeback... so, here I am.
