Even with shows that underperform on the rating charts, it has seldom been the case that a show has been pulled off the plug in even less than two months. That is what's happening with Kuch Toh Hai - Naagin Ek Naye Rang Mein.

The show starring Krishna Mukherjee and Harsh Rajput in lead roles is going off-air and it has been a huge shock given how it only began last month.

While many have had their take to it, leading lady Krishna Mukherjee has finally opened up on the same in an interview with ETimes TV. She said, “Our show started on February 7 and I feel it was too premature to take it off air in just one and half months. It was important that the characters establish a connect with audience and then if the story didn’t click, they could have taken a decision. It was a new cast and we all deserved a little more time to make a connect.”

She added, “After five seasons of naagins, the makers decided to do something different and experiment with the concept of vampires and wolves, but viewers did not warm up to it. I feel people still want to watch saas-bahu sagas on television and even if shows come up with slightly different scripts, the saas-bahu angle is predominantly a part of every show. Audiences are just not ready to watch something different.”

When asked about how essentially she was playing an angel but had to play Naagin, she said, “In order for the show to connect with audiences, writers will have to bring newer twists. I loved playing a naagin, but I was not aware initially that I would have to play one. I am happy that I got to play the lead role and the production house gave me this beautiful opportunity after Ye Hai Mohabbatein. It is a dream for every actress to play a lead role and I gave it my best. It was a learning experience and felt like working with family because I have worked with the production house before. I am looking forward to newer beginnings, hopefully, something more interesting will come up. We will work even more hard to connect with audiences in the future."

We are sure about that indeed.

vinnas 1 months ago There is NO need to bring this forced Spin show in 1st place rather Adjust Incomplete Tracks in N5 End it Proper So The Next Season of Naagin starts well 😊 voh bhi bina Vampires😉🤭 jo time isse mila voh bahut hai 🤔 Good Riddence 👍

Rein123 1 months ago Give it more time? For what? So they can mess up Naagin even further? Everyone warned the makers before hand about how big of a failure the vampire concept would be, and that they should have made it a separate show, they didn’t listen so they suffer, why blame the audience? Yes they should try something different, but that something different should also be digestible and logical to an extent especially when it’s being launched. Who the hell other than a few would be interested in watching a Naagin romancing a vampire? A cheel is still understandable but what the hell does a vampire have to offer for the story romance wise other than being a turn off?

BeyondHorizon 1 months ago I feel sad for Krishna considering this was her big break and it was her moment to shine. If the script was strong and had Ekta not made it a spin off of Naagin universe people might have accepted the story. But in the first episode itself there were bloopers.

nushy1995 1 months ago Blaming the audience seemed a bit much but then again, there are shows with worse concept and even more illogical stuff that go on forever. In that aspect she is right, they should have gotten some more time. Either way, all the best for her future endeavors. 👍

gurl-enchanted 1 months ago Ek toh yeh picture of her really annoys me. That costume belongs to Bani from N5. Makers showed no respect for VAni fans in the whole story. You had a fantastic pair that the people loved in N5. Story improve kar dete toh chal padhti gaadi. Instead makers brought this atrocity called Kuch Toh Hai. Though it is definitely not the fault of the cast and crew, but damn, the treatment meted out to KTH and N5 shows that production house ka dimag hila hua hai. Pehle get your scripts in order, fir launch karna shows. Otherwise it’s disappointing for everyone concerned

RadiantSpark 1 months ago I too feel that she is right. There are so many disgusting shows in TV which are running for long even with low Trps. Channel might have given some more time for the show but Colors is TRP hungry channel and does things foolishly

ALUJNA21 1 months ago She does not fit as a character who's able to play a nagin ...There are some actresses who can carry the role properly.
