Kiran Rao opens up on safeguarding Azad's privacy post-divorce with Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao's relationship continues to serve as a beacon of friendship and co-parenting excellence, even after their divorce in July 2021. Despite parting ways, the couple remains dedicated to nurturing their son, Azad Rao Khan, born in December 2011, and safeguarding his privacy from the public eye.

In a recent interview while promoting her upcoming directorial venture, "Laapataa Ladies," Kiran Rao emphasized the importance of respecting children's privacy. She noted that Azad has never been inclined towards public events, and they've chosen to honor his preferences accordingly.

Kiran said, "Children should have their privacy. Azad never really was interested in these big events, so we let him have his privacy."

Echoing similar sentiments, Aamir Khan, in a recent interview, shared his perspective on working with Kiran post-divorce. With his trademark wit, he dismissed the notion that divorce leads to animosity, emphasizing the depth of their bond.

"We are and will always be connected on humanitarian and emotional levels. We are like a family," Khan stated, underscoring the mutual respect between him and Rao.

On the workfront, Kiran Rao awaits the release of her new film Laapataa Ladies, releasing in theatres on March 1. The film stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles.
