Kareena Kapoor vs Ameesha Patel: Koffee with Karan 8 unearths long-standing rivalry

Kareena Kapoor and Alia Bhatt took centre stage on the latest episode of Karan Johar's Koffee with Karan, where the host delved into the long-standing rivalry between Kareena and Ameesha Patel. Karan, aiming for controversy, confronted Kareena about her absence from Sunny Deol's grand celebration for the success of Gadar 2, attended by industry stalwarts. Kareena initially claimed she wasn't in town, but Karan, insistent, challenged her, stating, "That’s a lie. I know you were in town."

Pressing further on Kareena's "history" with Ameesha, Karan received a diplomatic response, with Kareena praising Ameesha's film success. Referring to the time when Ameesha replaced her in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Kareena attributed it to destiny, prompting Karan to label it her "Oscar speech" and implying her diplomatic approach.

Talking about the time when Ameesha landed Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai after she left the film, Kareena said, “I think films are destiny and everyone went on to do their best.” Calling this Kareena’s “Oscar speech”, the director implied that she was being way too diplomatic. When asked if Kareena even congratulated Sunny or Ameesha on the success of their film, Kareena said that she hadn’t and said, “But I think it’s fabulous and I can congratulate them now, here.”

However Kareena turned the tables, questioning Karan's presence at the party, leading to a playful exchange where Alia teased Karan, calling him a "troll." As Karan persisted, asserting Kareena was indeed in Mumbai, she amusingly shot back, “Are you a troll?” 

Well it will be exciting to see who are the next pair of guests in queue to grace the couch.
