Kanwar Dhillon: I think Pandya Store is undoubtedly the best show of my career, has given me range to perform

Pandya Store on Star Plus has been receiving a lot of love from the fans and every single actor has managed to stand out through their performances. Also, someone who has garnered a lot of applause is Kanwar Dhillon aka Shiva Pandya. He spoke to India Forums about how he feels he has grown and evolved as an actor while playing Shiva, and he has quite a lot of insight to give.

He said, ''As an actor, I think the best thing about Shiva is that he has a lot of range. He has his angry side, a vulnerable side, and an emotional side when it comes to his family. He is like a coconut, which has a very hard exterior but a soft interior, which he shows to limited people he wants to. The main task with Shiva was to break the mould that when we show the soft side, it has to be visible as nicely as the rough side. It was a very delicate thing to work on and mould into but I am happy that it has happened. Now, Shiva is in my system. If you go to see, I am 70% Shiva as Kanwar Dhillon only, leaving the angry young man part aside. I am Shiva in real life so that is the reason I think it naturally comes on screen because I don't have to put too much of effort in doing what I do since I enjoy Shiva and I can relate to him. The range that the character has and the way it has been written beautifully, and make things beautiful.''

He further added, ''I also studied the original show earlier to understand what I am taking before I sign the show because it happens that you get lost in multi-starrers and that has happened in the past. But when I saw the South version, I saw how it is all about him and the actor who plays the role down South is also amazing. I always knew I will get to play a lot with this character, there is a good scope of performance and now, even the romantic part, my rapport with Alice has become such a rage. I am getting to do a lot of things in the show, even action. As an actor, I have gotten a lot of range to perform. I think Pandya Store is undoubtedly the best show of my career.''

The show is a remake of the Tamil series Pandian Stores and also features Shiny Doshi, Kinshuk Mahajan, Akshay Kharodia, in pivotal roles.
