Justin Baldoni Responds to Blake Lively’s Harassment Lawsuit, Cites Co-Star’s Texts as Evidence

Justin Baldoni is actively fighting against the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by Blake Lively in January 2025. Reports suggest that Baldoni has discovered strong evidence that may support his case. He is allegedly using a text message from his It Ends With Us co-star, Isabela Ferrer, to defend his conduct on set. Baldoni argues that Lively’s involvement in the film’s post-production influenced the crew’s perception of him, and Ferrer’s message highlights his professionalism and respectful behaviour.

Justin Baldoni’s Countersuit Against Lively and Reynolds

In response to the allegations, Baldoni has countersued Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, accusing them of civil extortion and slander. He claims that Ferrer’s message is proof that he maintained a professional and safe work environment.

Ferrer’s message, sent in July 2023 after wrapping up her role, reads:
"Hey!! Just got my film developed from when we were shooting, so here’s this sweet pic! I also have to say thank you SO so much for an incredible experience on my first film."

She further wrote, "I still can’t shake the feeling of it all because it truly was life-changing for me. You are such a wonderful, smart, and sincere director, and you created such a comfortable, safe space for me to feel like I could fully step into this role."

She concluded, "It will stay with me for the rest of my life!! See you soon, whether in the fall or later, & hope you’re doing well X."

Baldoni warmly responded, "You were such a joy and pleasure to work with," adding that Ferrer’s enthusiasm rekindled his love for directing. "I fell in love with directing once more because of your joy, generosity, honesty, and unadulterated brilliance," he wrote.

Baldoni alleges that Lively intentionally sidelined him from the film’s post-production and manipulated public perception. He claims she ensured his removal from promotional materials and influenced other cast members to unfollow him after she and Reynolds cut ties with him. Baldoni accuses Lively of creating a “trail of breadcrumbs” to make it appear as though he had wronged her, leading to his social isolation.

As the legal battle unfolds, both sides are expected to present more evidence to support their claims.
