Jurassic World Rebirth Worldwide Box Office: Scarlett Johansson starrer to have $300 million opening weekend

The mammoth success of Jurassic World Rebirth at the box office will keep the franchise alive. It is eyeing an opening weekend of USD 312 million globally, a figure that has exceeded expectations. Jurassic Park that released in 1993 was one of the defining films of Hollywood cinema. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the movie had dinosaurs and humans pitted against one another in a tale that spoke of human greed, science, survival and emotions. Jurassic World Rebirth, the seventh instalment of the movie is created by Spielberg and directed by Gareth Edwards. In this film, the dinosaurs are scarier and the setting is similar to that of the first original movie.

In the US, Jurassic World Rebirth made around USD 86 million for the three-day weekend. It is expected to make USD 141.2 million for the first five days. The film is headlined by Scarlett Johansson who has a sizeable fan following in the US and other countries. She is supported by Oscar winner Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey. The actress has done excellently in the action sequences and did a global promotional tour for the film. It has raked more than USD 171 million abroad, which is a spectacular figure.

Whatever people may say, there is always a thrill in watching the dinosaurs come alive on the big screen. In India, it made Rs 11 crores gross on Friday. Over the weekend, it is estimated to make around Rs 45 to 50 crores, which is one of the best for a Hollywood movie in 2025. The other film that did really well was Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning. With Metro In Dino, Sitaare Zameen Par and Jurassic World Rebirth doing well, this is a good weekend for all Indian cinema hall owners. Jurassic World makers might announce one more film for 2027 or 2028.
