While Mogul Emperor Akbar’s role in extending his empire across India and his other achievements are known worldwide, his deep and passionate love for Jodha Bai has remained confined to the books. Fortunately for the film buffs, director Ashutosh Gowarikar has taken the onus on him to enlighten the people on the subject through his magnum opus celluloid venture ‘Jodha-Akbar’.

Recently, Ashutosh invited all the bigwigs in the industry to the music launch of this much-awaited film and people in large numbers attended the show to express their keen desire to learn about the film as well as listen to itsmusic. True to Ashutosh’s style of presenting everything in their grandeur, Maharaja Bhawani Brij Raj Singh and Maharani Padmini Ji Singh from the royal Jodhpur family were the star attractions on the occasion. The royal couple not only unveiled the music of the film, but also represented Jodha Bai on the occasion.

Undoubtedly, the joys of Ashutosh knew bounds as he moved around the place taking care of his guests and inviting them to the stage one by one. Speaking on the occasion, Maharani Padmini Ji Singh described Jodha Bai as a sexual symbol and said that she was a beautiful gift of the Rajputs to the Moguls dynasty. Lyricist Javed Khan praised Ashutosh saying the in an era when most filmmakers were using the same type of love songs in film after film, Ashutosh has shown the courage and good intention of presenting love music in a different light.

Akbar’s (played by Hritik Roshan) mother portrayed by Poonam Singh thanked her husband for encouraging her to return to films after a long lapse. The program came to life when Hritik Roshan (Akbar) and Aishwarya Rai (Jodha Bai) shared their respective experiences of working in the movie. Like in Ashutosh’s ‘Lagaan’, Amitabh Bachchan has done the voice over for ‘Jodha-Akbar’ too.

Meanwhile, ‘Jodha-Akbar’ which was scheduled to be released on October 12 last year and then on January 25, will now finally hit the screen on February 15. We are sure that releasing a day after the ‘Valentine’s Day’ ‘Jodha-Akbar’ will not only succeed in stealing the hearts of all the lovers, but also prove to be a super hit worldwide. -(SAMPURN)
