Jiah Khan’s demise is one of the most controversial occurrences in the recent past and officials continue to investigate the case. Sooraj Pancholi who was first touted to be the prime suspect in the case started his life anew, thinking the case has now been settled down.
Now, the trial in Jiah’s case in which the actor is accused has been moved to the CBI Court this afternoon.
Jiah’s alleged suicide was probed by the Mumbai Police and the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) but the trial in the matter began in the early days of 2019 with little progress.
Meanwhile, the Housefull actress’ mother Rabia has been fighting to get justice for her daughter. Welcoming the court’s decision to move the case to a Special CBI Court, and said that Jiah had no fault and she was innocent.
A recent ETimes report quoted Rabia as she said, “The innocent Jiah had no fault. A wise decision by the court now. CBI will retrieve evidence from Maharashtra police after nine years. CBI has Scarman's report, experts forensic report, they need to send evidence to forensics to analyse whether the ligature could imprint just injuries on Jiah. We expect applaudable answers to the truth because Jiah would never take her life, and she was killed beyond a reasonable doubt.”
For the uninitiated, Jiah Khan was found dead in her Juhu apartment on June 3, 2013, and it sent shock waves across the nation. The saga continues to roll on and Pancholi is still associated with the same and is under constant scrutiny even though nothing was proved about it ever since.
Jiah was a British American actress and she made her Bollywood debut in 2007 with Ram Gopal Varma's ‘Nishabd’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She was praised for her performance in the film and she was later seen working with Aamir Khan in ‘Ghajini’, followed by ‘Chance Pe Dance’ with Shahid Kapoor, and Sajid Khan's ‘Housefull’, which was her last film.
