Jhumma Mitra is all set to perform a play!!

Not many know that Jhumma Mitra aka Durga of SAB TV's Jeannie aur Juju started her acting career as a theater actor with Ank headed by the veteran actor director late Shri Dinesh Thakur.

After almost 8 years she is once more stepping on the stage to perform a play, and this time with veteran actress and the renowned Ms. Shubha Khote. The offer actually came up through Ashish Roy who is a regular member of Shubhangi Kala Mandir Shubhaji's theater group.

When contacted Jhumma, she confirmed the news and said that she was super excited to be on stage again as theater has been here first love and the immediate response that one gets from the audience makes it worthwhile.

She was very nervous in the beginning as even reading the script in front of such a big star and knowledgeable theater actor as Shubhaji was in itself a huge task, but Shubhaji loved her in the first instance and actually pretty much pampers her, never scolds her for her little mistakes here and there and also says that she reminds Shubhaji of her niece.

It is an English play called "Lets do it" which they will be performing at the National Defense Academy, Khadakvasla in front of a crowd of 2000 future defense officers. She also added that she is nervous about it as it's been years since her last play but in the same time proud and content to be a part of this play and to perform for our future heroes.
