'It's the role and not the medium that matters' - Vrijesh Hirjee

Vrijesh Hirjee who was recently seen in Dil Bole Hadippa talks about his new avatar in SAB TV’s Shree Adi Manav. Vrijesh on a tete-e-tete with Telly Buzz…

Vrijesh Hirjee is a face that we get to see on the screen most often. But all of his roles have one quality in common- they are unforgettable. You may not remember his name, but if you spot him in a mall, you'll bet you've seen him either in films or on the tube!

Vrijesh talks about his new show on SAB TV Shree Adi Manav, about his co-stars and much more..

Tell us about your character in Shree Adi Manav.
My character's name is Adi. He is orally challenged. But he lives life to the fullest. He doesn't feel anything missing at all. He is happy from the bottom of his heart and does not care whether the other organs of the body are working or not. He is least bothered about others.

What is the USP of the show?
If you have willpower you can overcome all of life's problems. And here the three characters Shree, Adi and Manav, live life to the fullest, in spite of hardships. This is the USP of the show – 'You can overcome any problem with sheer will power.'

What made you take up this show?

The whole concept was good, and I was offered the opportunity to work with a great bunch of people. Also, SAB TV's shows are all cutting edge ones. So I signed up for the show.

Did you take up any sort of training for the show?
Nope! No training at all. The script and the director's instructions are all I have. (Laughs)

How is the experience with your co-actors?
It's been great. I know Tikku from a very long time. So that just added to the fun we had on sets. We enjoyed every minute in front of the camera as well as behind the scenes.

How is it working with Parritosh Painter who is well known for comedies like Dhamaal and Paying Guest?

I know Parritosh from my theater days. He is a wonderful director and it's his good work that has earned him name in this industry .

You are a known actor in big screen too. Why small screen then?

As an actor what is essential for me is the character that I get to portray and not the medium. The joy of acting lies in the role I am offered.

How was it like to work with Yashraj banner for Dil Bole Hadippa?
It was a fabulous experience!
