Indian Tv shows and their longevity is no secret as over the years, there have been several soaps which have not only ran for several years but also clocked thousands of episodes.

Till a while ago, Balika Vadhu and Saath Nibhana Saathiya were amongst the few of Indian TV shows to cross 2000 episodes, but both went off-air later.

However, crossing all of them and achieving a feat like no other is Star Plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as it has now become the first commercial Indian TV show to reach the mark of 2500 episodes.

Yes! That's right. The show has certainly made history and continues to run stronger than ever.

It's closest competitor is Sab TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which currently stands at 2314 episodes.
