It's a 'No Show' time on Television...

With channels going on a strike from November 10th, there will be no fresh content aired on television...

With no fresh content on television from 10th November, Monday, viewers will be left gazing at the re-runs of their favorite shows. In this situation, in addition to the old shows, many new shows on various channels which are either ready for a launch, or has been launched recently are hit the most.

Zee, which had plans to give its afternoon shows a lift with the launch of DJ’s Choti Bahu at the 1pm slot is still playing the waiting game with two shifts in the launch date till now.  Says the lead lady of the show Rubina Bilaik, “My entire family was looking forward to November 3rd, as that was the original launch date planned for my debut show on TV. Later, the date shifted to 10th, but now the wait seems to be longer”.

Sony’s new show Meet Mila De Rabba premiered on November 3rd, but now has to wait in the wings for the 2nd week to be aired. Surily Gautam, the lead girl of the show however, is not worried much as she says, “Its fine, I take this stoppage in a positive way. I will get more time to work on my acting, and I will be a better actress when we resume shooting”.

Same is the case for Ekta’s new show on Star Plus, Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna which was launched last week.

Sahara One’s two shows FOX’ Pannkh Hote Toh Udh Jaati and Sagar Arts’ Jo Ishq Ki Marzi Woh Rab Ki Marzi are also hampered as the launch dates have been altered yet again.

Viewers will also have to fore go fresh episodes of their favorite youth-based shows on Star One Dill Mill Gayye and Miley Jab Hum Tum.  Mohit Sehgal who plays Samrat in Miley Jab Hum Tum says, “This is a tough phase for television, but I just hope things get better at the end of this. I think we actors, producers, workers and above all, the channels will be well-placed with the solution got at the end”.

Well, if fiction shows are at the receiving end, so is the state of the very popular reality shows across channels. It is going to be a dull Monday today, as the very happening sets of Nach Baliye will not see shoot taking place. Shaleen Bhanot, one of the contestants in Nach says, “We are not shooting today. We don’t know till when this strike will go on, but I am glad that at least the viewers will see the re-runs of episodes, and the channels have not decided on a complete black-out with only blue screens available”.

Amidst all the re-runs on television, the only show which will provide fresh content to viewers is COLORS’ Bigg Boss.

As we look forward to this damp phase in television, we wish and pray that work resumes soon and the viewers get to see their loved shows to their hearts’ content!!
