It made me feel very positive and radiant from within: Preet Kaur Nayak on re-creating ‘Geet’ in ‘Imlie’

Star Plus show ‘Imlie’ is getting quite interesting with each passing episode. The current track of the show revolves around Imlie and Aditya’s separation. Imlie is trying to become an independent journalist while Aryan doesn’t leave any chance to humiliate Aditya and Imlie. Aditya has agreed to get married to Malini.

In the upcoming episodes, the members of Tripathi and Chaturvedi family gears up for Aditya-Malini’s mehendi ceremony. The theme of the occasion is to dress up as popular Bollywood characters. Imlie will be seen donning the attire of Simran from DDLJ while Aditya might dress up as Arjun from ‘Pardes’. Preet Kaur Nayak who essays the role of Rupali in the show will be re-creating the character of ‘Geet’ from ‘Jab We Met’.

India Forums got in touch with actress Preet Kaur Nayak and asked her about her thoughts on recreating ‘Geet’, the actress said, “Well, initially the makers told me that I will have an elaborated retro look, I was fine with it but not very ecstatic as I’m not a fan of too much make-up or elaborated look. Later, the team told me that I will be dressed as ‘Geet’ from ‘Jab We Met’ and I was left overwhelmed. I believe that character in itself is legendary and the popular Geet dialogue ‘Mai Apni Favourite Hoon’ is one that I love the most. I think, if every girl believes in that dialogue, they’ll be happier and they wouldn’t really have a lot of stress. When I mouthed that dialogue in one of the scenes, I felt a sudden rush of happiness.It made me feel very positive and radiant from within”.

She added, “As I speak to you dressed as ‘Geet’, I’m enjoying every bit of it and making a lot of memories. I feel like Kareena has entered my body and soul (laughs). She was phenomenal in the movie”.
