It is a huge risk: Ankit Gupta on playing Jahaan in 'Junooniyatt'

Colors’ newly launched show ‘Junooniyatt’ is getting all the love. The first few episodes looked promising and audiences are eagerly waiting to see Jahaan, Elahi and Jordan start their new journey to win a musical competition. The trio has different motives to win the competition but one thing that remains constant is their ‘junoon’ for music.

In a candid chat with India Forums, Ankit Gupta who plays the character of Jahaan in Colors’ newly launched show ‘Junooniyat’ talks about the show and his character. When asked if he relates to the character, Ankit said, “Yes, to some extent I do. Jahaan is calm and composed, so am I. He respects and loves his family a lot, I also have similar trait.”

One similarity between Ankit’s previous show ‘Udaariyaan’ and ‘Junooniyatt’ is his onscreen mother played by actress Gurvinder Gauri. On playing her onscreen son all over again, Ankit said, “People loved our mother-son scenes in ‘Udaariyaan’ and I believe the bond will be shown with even more finesse and depth in this show. I call Gauri jee mother offscreen and I we’ve received so much love for our scenes that the makers decided to re-do it in a fresh way for ‘Junooniyatt’ and I’m happy about the same.”

He further added, “I am grateful for all the love and support that my fans have showered me with. ‘Junooniyatt’ is quite out of my comfort zone. It’s a huge risk. When you bring something unique and out of the box, onscreen, it comes with a lot of challenges and risks. We as a team require all the love from the fans”.
