Isha Malviya opens up about working on Shaky, says, “I’m an Independent Woman

After winning hearts on Bigg Boss 17 and delivering a massive hit with Paon Ki Jutti, which has crossed over 190 million views, actress Isha Malviya is now entering a new phase in her career. Known for her graceful presence in Hindi music videos, Isha has made her Marathi debut with the much-anticipated track Shaky, alongside viral sensation Sanju Rathod, famed for Gulabi Sadi.

Speaking about the project, Isha shared, “The overall experience has been fantastic. This is my stepping stone into the Marathi industry. I’ve loved Sanju’s Gulabi Sadi—I must have listened to it more than 50 times! When I got the opportunity to collaborate with him, it was really exciting because I’ve always admired him as an artist.”

Entering a new cultural space was both exciting and meaningful for Isha. “This was really special. I’ve always loved Marathi looks the sarees, the traditional nath, the styling. Even though I haven’t been closely connected with Marathi culture before, I’ve always kept myself updated and admired its aesthetic.”

Working with an established artist like Sanju could be daunting, but Isha approached it with confidence. “I stay strong and confident in everything I do, especially my work. I’m an independent woman, and I always give my 200%—even 2000%—wherever I go. No one can bring me down or question my dedication.”

Stepping into a new language also meant pushing her boundaries. “In the beginning of the song, the female character is lip-syncing lines meant for the male character. I sat with Sanju for 20–25 minutes to understand the lines, then spent hours getting the lip-sync and emotions just right. There’s a big difference between just lip-syncing and truly performing it with understanding.”

One of the most loved elements of Shaky is the natural chemistry between Isha and Sanju, which came effortlessly. “The comfort zone was there from the very first click. Sanju is a really funny guy—he used to tease me on set, especially when I changed outfits! But he also made me feel comfortable, always complimenting and supporting me.”

With Shaky, Isha Malviya has not only embraced a new language and audience but has also proven her versatility and passion as a performer. This debut marks just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey in regional cinema.
