Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular and longest running shows of small screen. The show has been recently making headlines for Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben. The actress who has been long gone on her maternity leave is missing from the show since a long time and reports about her return or Ami Trivedi replacing her has been doing the rounds. While fans are eagerly waiting to know what will happen next, Hollywood actor Kalpen Suresh Modi better known as Kal Penn has expressed his desire to work on the show. 

The actor who is known for his role Kumar Patel in the Harold & Kumar film series recently shared a video and wrote, "Meet Ladies Bhai: an old, ridiculous Gujarati sketch character with a great shirt."[sic] Instantly fans jumped on this conversation and asked him to star in Hindi television's longest running show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The show's producer even asked him to come to the show. He wrote, "Sir , please please come to our @TMKOC_NTF show. We will be happy to host you on your show and would love to work with you"[sic] Kal further replied that though people are joking about it, it has been a goal.

Sharing about this incident with a leading daily, Asit Modi revealed, "I will be happy to have him on board, even if it's for a few episodes. I have asked him to DM [direct message] his contact number to me. I will take it forward from there." He further added, "He is an effortless actor with perfect comic timing. Taarak Mehta is all about the story, timing, and response to other co-actors."
