Indiagames to develop games on quiz show 'Paanchvi Paas'

Mumbai, May 28 (IANS) Indiagames Ltd, a UTV venture, has announced that it will develop games based on STAR Plus' popular quiz show 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain?' and release them in June.

Indiagames will be developing the games in partnership with Bulldog Media & Entertainment Pvt Ltd and STAR TV Network.

The games on the quiz show, which went on air April 25 and is hosted by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, will be the first offering from Indiagames on its newly launched proprietary 'PLAY 3' platform covering games across the three screens which include mobile, PC-online and Interactive Television (DTH and IPTV).

'Consumers can access content anytime, anywhere and on a device of their choice,' said Samir Bangara, chief operating officer of Indiagames, Tuesday.

He also disclosed that Indiagames would shortly bring out non-gaming content on the quiz show, including wallpapers, animations and ring tones.

'Besides, we are also developing arcade-based games that would be set up at high traffic consumer touch points, such as, malls, youth hangouts and game parlours. The idea is to create an experience beyond television,' Bangara added.

'Paanchvi Paas' is a Hindi adaptation of international franchise of Mark Burnett's 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?' and contestants compete to win Rs.50 million by attempting to answer questions culled from first to fifth grade school textbooks.
