Zee TV's popular primetime show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, has been keeping the viewers on the edge of their seats with twists and turns every other day. The suave lead of the show, Sartaj Gill, who is making heads turn with his power-packed performance as Rajbeer, just recently had an image shift in the show, with his character turning grey. 

After Rani's extravagant birthday celebrations where she expressed her true feelings for Rajbeer, little did she know that she was only being set up for a huge letdown. With Rajbeer revealing his true colors and ulterior motives to Rani, the lady is left devastated. It turns out that Raja always held her responsible for having had to spend his childhood in a hostel, away from his own family. And just to get back at her, he gained her trust and made Rani sign some documents, that would change her life forever. 

Rani, who has just fallen in love with Rajbeer and harbors dreams of living happily ever after with him, is now relegated to being his bonded labor for years to come!

With the character shift in his character from the positive to negative, Sartaj tells us, "The plot is riveting and keeps the audience guessing as to what will happen next. I played a positive character convincingly and got appreciation from all of my fans. Now it's time for me to reveal the new dimensions of my personality and shock the viewers."

He continues,"Portraying characters with shades of grey or complex layers gives me an opportunity to let my viewers experience different dimensions of me as an actor. Needless to say, it requires a lot of homework to play such a character convincingly. I'm hoping that the audiences will appreciate the twist and this new angle to the story."
