I don't want to restrict myself in terms of acting says Paridhi Sharma

Paridhi will soon be seen in Sony TV's upcoming show Patiala Babes

Sony TV's upcoming show Patiala Babes featuring Jodhaa Akbar actress Paridhi Sharma and talented Ashnoor Kaur is a tale about mother-daughter relationship. The show is about a mother and her teenage daughter who live in Punjab, and how the daughter gives her mother wings to fly and move ahead in life.

The promo of the show is already out and looks refreshingly good. We chatted with Paridhi about the show, and she happily revealed details about her character, why she took the break and about her comeback.

Paridhi's previous show Jodha Akbar was a huge hit and she instantly became a household name after the show, but the actress took a break of couple of years and is returning with Patiala babes. Speaking about returning to television she speaks, "The first feeling that strikes me is responsibility, because now I really have to live up to the expectations of fans, because my earlier performance had raised the bar. I hope this show too garners the same kind of response."

Sharing about the long break that she took, she shared. "See, it's a difficult situation for working women, because when they're at the peak of their career simultaneously their biological clock is also ticking. I'm someone who believes in maintaining the balance between the two. For me at that point of time it was important and rational to go the family way, and that's why I took the break."

When asked why did she choose Patiala Babes as her comeback show, she quipped, "I just had two thoughts when I wanted to comeback, first was that my character has be a protagonist, and second that it has to be a refreshing and a meaningful role. Both of these criterias were fitting right with this show. When I heard the story, I was completely convinced by the it, and I knew that i had to do it."

Also discussing the idea of playing a mother on-screen at such an early stage in her career, she wisely replied, "I know a lot of actresses are apprehensive of playing a mother, and even I was initially. But when I heard the story, the actor inside me didn't want to compromise just because she's a mother. They're so many shades and horizons to the character, and I don't want to restrict myself in terms of acting."

We asked till what extent does she relate to the character in real life and she was quick to reply, "I do relate to the character to some extent as we both are family oriented, we have same value systems, also she is a good cook just like I am in real life, but yes one thing that differs is that I am a career oriented woman and she is not."

Just candidly we asked her if she's a babe in a real life, and she laughed and said, " If being a babe means being confident and not compromising on her terms and choices, then yes i'm definitely a babe."

The show is slated to release on 27th November, 2018.
