'I discovered a cook in me after marriage' - Juhi Parmar

Juhi Parmar Shroff, the iconic bahu of television will be seen in a totally new avtar on SAB TV's Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai which airs every Wednesday at 10 PM.

Here is Juhi in an exclusive interview with Telly Buzz on her new role, life after marriage and much more..

After being the dutiful Bahu in Kumkum what is it that prompted you to take up the title role of Chanda in the SAB comedy show.
This show was offered to me just after Kumkum went off air. However, for certain reasons it got delayed. After having cried for seven long years in Kumkum, this comedy show came as a relief. Also, I believe in trying new things; I have been part of comedy reality shows and have hosted a reality too. So I am glad to have got another dimension to explore as an actor.

How is it working with experienced actors like Tiku Talsania and Asif Sheikh?
Both of them are brilliant actors and are helpful. From the directors to the cast, we sit together, read the scripts and clear our doubts. We discuss about the various punchlines that can be used to suit the characters; we rehearse a lot so that we give the best shot possible.

How is life after marriage?
Life has completely changed after marriage. Earlier, I was least bothered about the timings I work in, but now by nine I pack up and head home. After marriage you get the sense of belonging, and that is a beautiful feeling to go thro'. Now at the end of the day, I know someone is waiting for me.
 
You are more popular than your husband. What have you to say about this.
I became a known face and a house hold name thro' one show Kumkum. While Sachin has done nearly seven shows in the span of seven years, the fact remains that I had done only one show in seven years. So Sachin has his own share of popularity. In one of the award functions, he was provided proper security, so as to protect him from the mob seeking autographs.

How is it to have your husband from the same profession?
It's great to have your partner in the same profession as this increases the level of understanding. He is well aware of my shooting schedules and the way I work. If I don't answer his calls, or I do come home late, I don't have to explain to him about the situation I was in. Like a normal couple, we discuss everything at the end of the day; we also talk about the scenes and sequences that happened during shoot.

What is the one thing that you have discovered after marriage?
I discovered a cook in me after marriage (smiles). I have developed into a very good cook, and I love cooking only when Sachin is at home. I prepare chicken for him as he likes it very much.
