"I am dissapointed about the unethical behaviour towards me"- Mita Vashist

The recently launched Zee TV show, 'Kaala Teeka' starring Daljeet Kaur has managed to garner appreciation since its inception. The face starring in the show, which was a pleasant surprise for many fans was that of veteran actress, Mita Vashisht best remembered for her role in 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki' and 'Suvreen Guggal-Topper Of The Year'.

However, it seems the stint was short-lived, as, apparently, the actress is being replaced by Mona Ambegaonkar in the show, where she played the main antagonist, Jethi Maa.

When we contacted Mita, she said, "I have no idea about the replacement and it is through the media and fans, I am getting this news. I was shooting for around 50 days consecutively, despite being eligible for eight days leave in a month, which deteriorated my health tremendously. Inspite of being down with viral in mid-December, I continued to shoot. But there was a period where I lost my voice and had to inevitably take an off."

She added, "They (the makers) gracefully gave me the offs, telling they understand the plight of the health, but now, all of a sudden I hear about being replaced. Maybe they wanted to introduce a new track or so, but, it is most unethical and unprofessional on their part to replace someone without even notifying that person. Times may change, work ethics don't."

She also mentioned that, "I am currently in the health to resume shooting, as promised. Because, in the period when I was ill, I use to get offers for roles from different sources, but I was turning down everything as I assumed I am committed to this show. This sudden change indirectly affects my work also, when not one person has cared to inform me."

Concluding on a neutral approach, she said, "I still haven't got any news from the makers side, till today and hope to be notified about the development. But even if it that's the case, its not the end of the world."
